"What's Your Number?," the movie adaptation of my second book, 20 Times a Lady, has been green lit!

And the hot, hot, hot talented thespian Chris Evans (Fantastic Four, Nanny Diaries) has been cast opposite my favorite girl in the world, Anna Faris! Click here to read the article in Variety. Filming is set to begin in May.

I want to scream. Actually, I did last week. I cried, too. It just doesn't seem real. It's weird because I just made it all up, you know? The book, that is. I mean, that's what novelists do—we make shit up, talk to ourselves, play out every possible scenario in our head and out of our head. I mean, I really just walk around and talk to myself all day long. But, in doing that, I wrote a book. And now that book is going to be a movie. And two amazing actors are going to play characters that at one point just existed in my head. That's why it's so weird. So to anyone out there who has a book in their head... write it! It just might be a movie one day.

Okay, back to my real life now.

I changed my relationship status on Facebook to "in a relationship" just to see how it would feel.

Everyone started commenting and liking the change...

...and that made me feel really bad, so I came clean shortly after doing so.

But you know, for five minutes everyone thought I had a boyfriend. And it was nice. I felt like I was part of a team.

*sigh*

My sleeping is so screwed up and I hate it. It's really getting old.

I've been trying to get on a normal sleep schedule for months now and just when I think I have it, I don't. I can't sleep at night. I get motivated at night. My brain turns on at night. I just can't stop thinking. I think and think and think all night long and it keeps me awake. My mind talks to itself, I have this inner dialogue that just rambles on and on about nonsense. To all my friends who tell me I talk too much, I know! Tell me about it! I never. shut. up. Or, rather, my mind doesn't. I mean, if it had little hands and a Mac of its own, it would bust out at least a dozen books a year. (Easily ten pages a night.)

I'm taking a sleeping pill. The normal dosage is two pills but I'm only going to take one because it's already 4 AM and they give me nightmares anyway.

I'm still going to wake up at 9AM though. Because if I sleep in to make sure I get my eight hours, then my sleep schedule will never become normal.

Just needed to vent.

Okay... seriously, liquor store guy? Do I really come in here that often? I mean, it's nice to be recognized as a valuable customer, but it shouldn't be weird when you don't see me for a couple days.

Now I'm worried I'm an alchy.

Or worse, I'm worried people might think I'm an alchy.

I mean, it's just like the lady who owns the neighborhood bakery. I know that you know me, but when we pass each other on the street, you don't need to acknowledge my presence. I'd prefer that our relationship be kept private.
