Pet Tags

Man, I'm so irritated.

I just received four pets tags that I ordered for Bev and Mary Margaret (two for Brooklyn and two for LA) and they're all messed up. Not only did they leave off the "Margaret" on Mary Margaret's tags, but the text isn't centered correctly and runs off the right side on all four of them. (The last letter of the address is cut in half.) The tags themselves are also ugly. The edges aren't smoothed out... they look like someone just cut them from a piece of sheet metal and called it a day.

So anyway, I got them this morning on my way to Starbucks (yesterday's mail), so while I was there, I started drafting a strongly-worded letter in my head, like what I was going to say to these people when I sent them back.

And then I saw it.

In tiny print on the bottom of the invoice it said, "Our handicapped employees appreciate your order."

So now I can't send them back. If I did I'd be a total asshole.

I'm just going to order new ones from someplace else. Any recommendations?

I must be a total asshole, because I laughed out loud. I got satisfactorily functional tags at PetSmart, but they have really cute ones at some of the designer doggy stores. I switched to collars with their info embroidered on them, though, because my little one got his tag caught on my bedspread and was trapped there for 4 hours! No more tags for my guys!

I bought Sophie Kate's tag from the EBay seller in this URL.

Love the tags they are sturdy, have had it almost 3 years and no scratches.

OMG, Red Dingo! Seriously, Red Dingo. Go to Red Dingo. The tags are so lovely. Red Dingo - go there. You have to find a retailer and then go in to that retailer's store and fill out an order form but it's super easy and I got my tags like two days later. And they're so nice, it's really something, that dog tags could be that nice. Red Dingo!

Amber, so you think Red Dingo? Ha ha... Really, what's it called? Red Dingo?

I use Luckypet.com because their tags also include a number that goes to their system and helps locate your pet if they get lost. For example, my dog recently got out of the backyard and the woman who found her called the 800# on her tag and they start calling a list of #'s..they try calling me first, then go through a list of #'s I gave them and it ends up with my vet...the only thing I don't like is that the second tag I got from them doesn't have my number directly on it with the 800# like my first tag did...But it's helpful!! and they are cute!

Karyn, I think that's bogus. No organization who works to serve and benefit the -disabled- uses the term handicapped anymore. I think they just hire people whether they can or can't do them right and then add that little "disclaimer" so they can blame it on disabled people! Bummer!

I agree with Amber, Red Dingo is great, plus they guarantee their tags for the life of your dog so if the color fades or the engraving wears they'll replace it for free.

Is Brooklyn spelled "Brooklin"?

I got mine made at PetSmart (very quick and they look good!). But after reading all of these posts I'm gonna need to check out Red DIngo....

I am with Amy; I just make mine at PetSmart. Isn't that where the lady with the monkey was? Ha ha! I guess if you sent the strongly worded letter & sent them back, that would really make you an a-hole. But too bad they don't have some sort of quality control before they ship them.

Did someone say Red Dingo!?!? Sorry, couldn't resist. Why does this remind me of "A DINGO ate my baby!!"
