Packing Routine

I'm packing to go to Chicago for a bit.

Does anybody else pack like this?

I go through my "getting ready" routine in my head, but I have to say it aloud.

"I'm taking a shower, I'm taking a shower..." (Grab soap.)

"I'm washing my hair, I'm washing my hair..." (Grab shampoo, grab conditioner.)

"I'm shaving my legs, I'm shaving my legs..." (Grab razor.)

"I'm doing my hair, I'm doing my hair..." (Grab leave-in conditioner, hairbrush, flat iron.)

"I'm going out for a night on the town..." (Grab sexy clothes, condoms.)

Ah, ha ha... kidding.

I don't pack that way. But your ways seems a lot more fun than this: OMG! I have to leave in 15 minutes! Why didn't I do this sooner! Okay no time to panic. Or think! Just overpack! Hurl everything from the bathroom into the suitcase. Stuff that entire pile of clean laundry in too. UNDERWEAR! I almost forgot underwear!

I will definitely pack this way in the future! Maybe I won't forget so many things!

I DO pack like that although I might not say it completely out loud. I need to go through my whole routine so I do not forget anything. Although inevitably I do forget something.

Never mind packing, I get up like this every day. Packing is even more of a challenge, so I made a master packing list so I couldn't forget stuff. It doesn't always work though! There always seems to be one thing I think I've packed when I haven't.

I am a terrible packer. I don't like to pack (or unpack, for that matter). It makes me nervous, as if I'm going to the moon and they don't have any of the things I might forget to bring, so I'll be stranded there. Crazy.

I usually lay everything out on the bed, and then leave the room because I'm hyperventilating. Then I come back and re-think the combinations of clothes, to see if I can wear everything at least twice, in combo with something different. That's the Medina, WA, upbringing. And shoes to match, and cosmetics at the last minute. Then I ask Gregg if he can fit it all into a suitcase, and he makes it work. He is a great packer (he travels overseas for work). I am lame.
Bon Voyage!

I pack like that! Glad to know I'm not the only one! It's the only way I don't forget anything :)
