"Experts"
Jun 16, 2008 at 3:37 PM From New Scientist magazine: Human egg makes accidental debut on camera.
Look closely: this is history in the making. These are the clearest pictures ever taken of what is the starting point of every human life: ovulation occurring inside a woman's body.
Observing ovulation in humans is extremely rare, and previous images have been fuzzy... The release of an egg was considered a sudden, explosive event, but [these] pictures, to be published in Fertility and Sterility, show it taking place over a period of at least 15 minutes."

I read this article at my sister's house last week and showed my brother-in-law right afterwards. At first, we were both obviously amazed. But after a second or two, we looked at each other and were like, Hmmm... experts don't really know anything, do they?
I mean, you'd think with all the progress with IVF, etc., they'd know it takes 15 minutes for an egg to be released and not a nano-second, right?

As interesting as that is I think I would have enjoyed it more if I was not eating my lunch at the same time.
That's exactly who I was thinking of when I read this, and saw the photos. "There's no place like home!"
So gross, yet cool.
Picky and Choosey need a decorator.
Good one Frank!
it kinda looks like picky and choosy are living in a big pimple...

Sigh. Again, Karyn, a little warning that the insides of someone is coming up would be great. :) I'm squeamish.
that IS fascinating, though.
oh man... I was eating lunch when I saw this.
That is amazing.
PS Picky and Choosy probably LOVE their home, since they're comfortable staying there for the time being. They probably have a HD tv, cable with all of the movie channels, and a Wii. At least the Wii would explain cramps...
We looked like tiny vitamin E capsules! My miracle psych drugs are being blamed for my missing periods. So I must have a ton of those babies (hee hee) languishing in my umm nether regions. Wait till I go for the pre-op for lalproscopy. I'm totally gonna ask them where they go..is there some kind of egg blockage? Like caviar eggs in a sac maybe.. I'm going to direct him to your post and ask him if he's ever seen thta before..
I love how they labelled ‘surgical instrument’ just in case someone genuinely believes that we naturally have metal rod protruding from our ovaries! Very interesting indeed.....to see a regular source of pain and discomfort in vivid, clear colour!
I actually have picturs of my own ovaries... it's sort of cool to show people... which I did after the surgery without really caring. My photos aren't nearly as gross as those ones though.
