End Of The World

May 12, 2008 at 5:21 PM Seriously, I feel like the end of the world is coming or something.
Tsunamis, hurricanes, cyclones, earthquakes...
Are they happening more frequently today? Or is it just that we're better informed of these tragedies because of the internet?
My thoughts and prayers go out to the people who are affected by the earthquakes in China.

I think, both of them. Because of climate change there were more catastrophes and we were informed just in time. It is like it is. Nature is revenging.
My thoughts are with those in China and Myanmar and anywhere else, where is / was such a catastrophe!
I was just saying last night that it feels like the world might explode at any minute between the natural disasters (don't forget the volcano in Chile) and the wars breaking out everywhere. Then I wake up and see there was an earthquake in China. It's very sad. We're very lucky.
That is all I have been thinking about today too. It's really freaky. Our lives could change in a split second, you just never know.
in early april, we had serious flooding in the st. louis area due to days of rain. our rivers are still way up from normal.
then we had the quake on april 18th and i told my husband i was worried it was a sign of the apocolypse. we had rains, floods, earthquakes. next is supposed to be fire, right? it's just freaky.
after seeing what happened in china today, i will no longer complain about the aftershocks we've been experiencing ever since the 18th (even though i still think it's a sign that something bigger is coming in our area.) every aftershock in china has been worse than the quake than we had on the 18th. seeing what happened there really put things in perspective.
i don't even think there are words to describe it...
very scary. I have been thinking the same thing

Karyn,
I totally agree! It's so spooky that these disasters are all happening so close together...
I've been reading about some disasters that are overdue in this country.... better go screaming into the woods now.
My colleague said exactly the same thing this morning when he walked in the office. I'm also worried about world food shortages (time to plant a vege garden) and the price of petrol. I live in a city with (hopefully) inactive volcanoes and pretty near a fault line. Hope things don't start happening here too.
