I once taught my mom about IM and one day when I wasnt at work, she panicked because she didnt see me online. Thought I was fired or something. Turned out I was home sick. She called all over looking for me just because she didnt see me online. Part of her morning ritual was to check to see if I made it to work by checking her buddy list.

Someone showed my dad how to use Skype and now he wants to call me and get the web cam going all the time. I am online a lot for work and now I always have my Skype set to busy or else he'll call me every time he is on. Usually it's for some sort of computer help and that is downright painful. *cringe*
