Did anyone else just watch Top Gun? It was on Cinemax tonight. It's such a great movie, isn't it?
Remember how awesome Tom Cruise was before he became a punchline? Risky Business, Top Gun, Cocktail, Rain Man, A Few Good Men, Jerry Maguire—the list goes on.
I have to confess, I still love him. I can't help it. Nut case or not, he has a special place in my heart.

I saw Top Gun enough times in middle school--for some reason we used to watch it in class every time we had a slow day. Maybe there was a copy of the tape in the teacher's lounge.
However, I did just watch The Firm. It gets better every time.
I totally agree. That's why I just can't watch the trainwreck now. SO embarrassing!
I had an entire wall dedicated to Tom Cruise in high school. The other wall was covered with Wacko Jacko posters so that's not saying much.
Ok how hot is the beach volleyball scene in Top Gun? Is it still as hot as it was back when we watched it as young 'ens?
A few years ago, I was working delivering stuff to places in upstate NY and ran across an ex-top gun pilot who was one of the consultants to Top Gun. The stories this guy told were fantastic! I wish I could retell them all here, but it's not my blog and I don't have a banjo handy.
Tom Cruise dancing in his underwear in Risky Business and playing Beach Volleyball in Top gun both scences still make my day.
I can't help but watch a Tom Cruise movie. He's pretty crazy now but, he does make a great movie.
I did not see Top Gun until 12 years ago, when I began dating my husband. And one night during a conversation, he quotes, "This could get complicated". I had no idea where the line was from, he explained his all-time favorite movie...etc. So we watched it one night, and that was the...um night.
Awww, fond memories.
Thanks, Karyn
I couldn't believe it when I read this, because I was just thinking the same thing last week (how better he use to be). I also took a picture for fun along the lines of Risky Business.
