Patience
Jan 28, 2008 at 2:43 PM At 2-1/2 years old, my niece Nora is a very impatient little girl. A few months ago she threw a fit over something, so I sat her down and said, "Nora, a very wise man named Axl Rose once sang about something called 'patience.'"
"Patience?" she said, looking at me wide-eyed.
"Yes," I replied, "Ooh ooh, patience."
Since then, every time she gets a little antsy, I tell her that Axl Rose would be very disappointed in her behavior. She never really responds when I say this, so I didn't think it was sinking in... until today, that is.
She told me that she had to go downstairs and play in her playroom "right now!!!!" so I turned to her and said, "Nora, what did we learn about patience?"
"That Axl Rose would be very disappointed in me right now," she said.

This is soo cute. Nora is very smart. And, I am sure she does not care if Axl Rose is disappointed in her. She might care if Aunt K were though.
You go, Nora!
I love it. The Axl Rose method of child rearing.
OMG, too cute. Kids really do listen!
that is GENIUS. i LOVE that song and am sooo going to teach that line to my kids. lol! you crack me up.
I want grandbabies RIGHT NOW! When my eldest daughter (now 27 yrs old) was a tot, she used to hum Paranoid, by Black Sabbath. Adorable, huh?
You go, Nora! She is too, too precious - as is her brother. I have a question about Nora's shirt ... Does that say No Sleep over the Brooklyn Bridge? As in "No Sleep Til Brooklyn"?
I heart that very, very much!
Aina... yes, it says "No sleep," then a picture of the bridge, then "'til Brooklyn" underneath.
I got it eons ago at a store in Brooklyn and I haven't seen them since. http://prettyinthecity.blogspot.com/2006/09/im-alive.html" REL="nofollow">Here's a better picture.

How cute!
"All my myself" gets me every time.
Bwahahahaahahha :D
This is why I read your blog.
Awesome.
Freaking hilarious! Kids are sponges.
This is absolutely hilarious, I love it.
On a beautiful day (before winter), I took a drive through the country with my 2-year old daughter while listening to "Patience" on the radio (and I haven't heard that song since that day)!
Oh my, how genius is that? You've got to be the best auntie ever. *lol* Now if you just teach her some more of Axel's lyrics...ok maybe not yet.
