My Toe - Part II

I think it's broken. It's black and blue and swollen. I'm going to go the doctor tomorrow.

I'd now like to take this time to thank The Writers Guild of America. Without them I would not have health insurance and would not be able to go to the doctor for a broken toe. Or a cut finger. Or a heel spur. Or strep throat. Or the much needed psychiatric help I receive each month.

Thank you, Writers Guild, for keeping me healthy and (somewhat) sane.

PS - Manic Mom asked me for a picture of the toe, so you can thank her for the image above.

Ouch! Does not look like it feels too good.
It reminds me of Bomb pop popsicles when we were little. Remember those?

All they're going to do for you is tape your toes together after they X-ray. Well, at least that's what they did back in the day when I broke my toes on a regular basis...

Doesn't look very swollen to me!

I broke my little right toe twice. The first time it wasn't bruised just swollen. The next time the whole right side of my foot was purple and swollen. It throbbed in pain forever(months).
Treatment = None
Taping the toe to another makes it hurt even more.
My Dr. said just were comfy shoes and it will have to heal on its own. He also said it would hurt even more during the winter/cold months because arthiritis would set in. I broke it in Sept and it hurt until May(then I broke it again in August). No Lie. I could not wear most shoes, only a comfy pair of running shoes and a flat pair of Enzo Angiolini's that I bought in about 5 colors.
So my suggestion for you is buy a good pair of running shoes and move to Hawaii.

i'm worried about your toenail falling off. can you please post a picture of the tip of the toe so we can assess the damage

Simon, it's swollen! When a drama queen tells you she hurt herself, you go along with it! Boo hoo.... :( Ouchie wowchie!

Okay, that's what everyone has been saying... that the doctor won't really do anything. So maybe I won't go. I dunno.

And I'm worried about my toe nail, too. Thank goodness it's winter.

When my toenail came off, i just painted where the toenail would have been with nail polish. If you lose it though, they grow back kind of dodgy.

Karyn, child, get that toe looked at-- when I saw the pic, I thought "Why did she paint her toe with Lorac eye shadow?" until I read the text (I have that color, btw). Girl, that color ain't right. Can't imagine what that feels like-- forget Tila Tequila; hit the Patron Silver to numb the pain until tomorrow.

Hope you feel better!

If you can move your toe without screaming that should be a good sign. You should really go get it checked out just to be on the safe side.

Who cares if the dr tells you there's not much they can do for you. Maybe the dr. can tell u if your toe nail will fall off.

Boo Hoo Ouchie Wowchie?!?!

WTF!

Simon, that's how I express my pain.

Karyn,
Even though the Dr. will not do much about your toe. You need to go anyway. They will x-ray it. You need to know if it is broken or not and not just assume that it is. If it is broken (and depending how severe) they could have to do surgery to put pins in so it doesn't heal crooked and deformed looking.

Simon

I hope you never(or maybe, do) break your toe.
And if you do you better not scream or whine and complain.

oooooowwwwwww! that makes my equivalent toe throb in sympathy pains. good luck.
