F Train Tragedy

So this is going to be a terrible post. I was on the F Train coming home after taping my VH1 segment, when the train came to an abrupt stop. After a few seconds, the conductor came over the loud speaker and said, "We have a customer on the track." As it turns out, someone committed suicide by jumping in front of the train. The train was just entering the West 4th stop.

I was in the second to last car which wasn't in the station yet, so myself and the other passengers had to walk through all the cars to the front in order to get off the train. When we deboarded, the station was loaded with firemen and police officers, and they were looking under the train for the body, the person... it was so horrible. I didn't see any blood or anything - thank God - but there was a stretcher and other stuff.

This was all I could find on the Internet about it. I'm sure there will be more; it just happened.

Manhattan, NY +Transit Delay+ Power is off on the downtown "F" Line due to an EDP that jumped onto the tracks in front of the train and was struck by the train at Waverly Place and 6th Avenue, ESU and FD on the scene, expect delays on the transit system.

(NOTE: EDP stands for Emotionally Disturbed Person.)

Here's something else: Gothamist

Check back later because I'm going to write more on this. I met a guy and we had a nice talk about life and I want to tell you about it.

For those of you who may be depressed:

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention service available to anyone in suicidal crisis. If you need help, please dial 1-800-273-TALK (8255).

It is so sad when someone is in that much pain that they have to end it all. People say its the easy way out, but its a disease, they are in pain. My husband just found out his x girlfriend killed himself, we were very sad.

That is sad. That is a person. Someone's child. I can only imagine what the family is going through right now.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. That sucks.

I will say a prayer for them tonight.

So sad.

My husband worked for the coroner's office until a month ago. It is amazing how common it is that people do this. (he is the one with the white van you see on tv) especially the Golden Gate bridge. So sad. Happens way to often.

Wow.

Too sad.

Especially this time of year.

And then my next thought was, "Ooh, maybe the guy Karyn met will/did ask her out and maybe they'll get married and you'll owe it all to the dead guy on the tracks.
