There is a God

Ladies and Gentlemen, a Starbucks is opening two doors down from my apartment building.
My landlord owns the building, and I'm sure he just made a pretty penny renting it out to them. Previously it was a general store that pretty much carried everything from cleaning supplies to electronics to weave (yes, as in hair weave) to mousetraps. I used to buy my lightbulbs there.
After what happened at my last neighborhood Starbucks, I'm going to be bold and lay claim to this one right now: THIS ONE'S MINE, LENNY! So back off...
Anyway, I'm going to be chronicle the progress of this delightful addition to my block with pictures, so keep checking back.

Hi Karen,
Shouldn't you be a little bit more careful in letting everybody on the internet know where(about) you live? Maybe it's just paranoia speaking here but hey :-)
Love your blog! Marte
Congrats! Do you think they'd deliver to you? I doubt it but it's a nice thought! What do you usually get there?
Yaaay! I totally understand your need, as my closest Starbucks here in Queens is a whole mile away. So much effort for my morning happiness, but entirely worth it. Enjoy your new Starbucks! =)
So lucky of you...I'm green with envy!
can't wait for a Starbucks to open in my neighbourhood...but now, there's no freaking Starbucks in d west of Singapore where I live..dat sucks...
I can just see you now....walking over in your jammies and bed hair saying "I'll take a latte, please."
That will be too funny!
Make sure they have a bunch of outlets so you can plug your laptop in when you work!!
And for God's sake.....at least wear a robe!! :-)
Is starbucks big in London (anyone?) Because its really not huge in Australia..like I've been there maybe half a dozen times in my whole life.
Can I just mention that ANYTIME you mention the fact that you live in New York, I begin to get a little jealous...? Don't get me wrong, Minneapolis is a nice city, but I need a bigger city. And one that is open 24 hours. That would be awesome.
Congrats on your own personal Starbucks! If you see Lenny staking out your new spot, just ignore him. Yes, it might be a little rude, but he'll get the picture... AND you get to keep your Starbucks! :)
You're so lucky! Living in the suburbs, I have to DRIVE to buy Starbucks...although when I'm in the city for work, there's one downstairs next door. But it'll be so nice to wake up and just go outside to get your fix. =)
Congratulations on the Starbucks! I have to have my nonfat pumpkin spice latte w/ no whip every single day!!!
I too get jealous every time you mention New York, as I live in a little farming town near Fresno CA.
I'm going to be so sad when they take away my pumpkin spice latte, as it's one of the Holiday drinks. :(
whatever! starbucks isn't there for just you. i hope lenny finds you.
I got excited today because I saw they are putting a Dollar General down the street from my place today. :)
